I'm now a conspiracy theorist.
There is NO WAY this country could be THIS stupid, is there?? This is a fixed election! Every person I know is economically suffering worse than four years ago, disgusted with the Iraq war, worried about their safety and future, and embarrassed that W is back for another four years. You can't tell me that there are so many rednecks and idiots in the US!
I need to go watch "1776" and take a nap.

we fixed 3.5 million votes?
we fixed the senate races where we picked up 4 seats?
we fixed the house races where we picked up 1?
don't look now, heart, but i saw a cigarette smoking man over by the grassy knoll.

Control of the Senate, control of the House, and thngs looking like they do with Ohio.
This morning could not be better for me.
This coming from a Republican who lives in Illinois and has NO representation at the state or federal level.

Um, you missed the point. The point is DISAPPOINTMENT, along with sarcasm. I would think those things would not be lost on Republicans.
In 2008, don't crybaby to the Democrats if the rest of the world wants nothing to do with us whatsoever. And as Eddie Izzard says "ROW" (rest of world) SHOULD matter, even to Americans.

The real deal is this:
The GOP made this an election about VALUES, i.e. same sex marriage, stem cell research, etc. These issues appeal to the most common denominator in the ol' US, as well as the evangelical christian right. They were galvanized and got out to the polls. And sadly, it just divided this country even more.
It's really a shame. I do take heart, however, in that it's not a runaway landslide slamdunk victory for the GOP. There's roughly 50% of the population that didn't vote for Bush -- definitely enough support for 2008 -- if my party gets on-message -- and perhaps employs some GOP tactics.
It's a shame.

Posted: 11/3/04 at 8:53amYou're right, Mominator. We will go on. My only hope is that we will rise out of the conservative ashes in 2008 and be more unified for a healthier country and world.
