I need help with choosing a song.
I'm in 7th grade, but no one in my school besides me has any theatre talent.
So I was asked to sing for them on June 13th at their Commencement Ceremony.
I've been told For Good a lot of times, but I think that if I was going to see that, I would have had to be in the 8th grade myself since it's pretty sentimental and all. Any suggestions?

for good is beyond cliched. do "Don't Have To Be So Sad" by Yo La Tengo.
If only you had 3 other people, then you could do the opening to Songs for a New World. Please don't do For Good....so old. haha
Every Moment by Joy Williams...?
Everyone and their mother's sister did For Good when the choral arrangement came out. My high school did it..as well as about 3 neighboring schools.
Our song my senior year was Always Look on the Bright Side of Life from Spamalot..but part of that was because we had all gone to see the show on broadway..and some Rascal Flatts song that I don't remember cause everybody hated it cause some sophomores picked it out....google says its Bless the Broken Road.
We also did Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson.

my graduation song was "Smack My Bitch Up".
ughh...I had to sing For Good at my 8th grade graduation and 8th grade awards night 3 years ago.
All I can say is, DON'T SING FOR GOOD!
It will come back and haunt you for the rest of your life.
if your singing by yourself, and you have a pretty big vocal range, possibly Astonishing from Little Women might work...

"Go Gently Into the Morning"
You'll Never Walk Alone from Carousel
This is the Moment from Jekyll and Hyde
Totally F*cked from Spring Awakening (jk)
As far as pop songs, This Used to Be My Playground by Madonna is really good. It reminds me of high school.
