I'm not exactly sure how this film has escaped me, all these years; but I've just watched it on TCM. It easily qualifes as the worst film released in 1963, by a major studio. Inept, on every level (direting, cinematography, scoring, editing, acting...), the only thing of interest, is Angela Lansbury; and, once she leaves the film, the tedium is unbearable. Peter Finch, Arthur Hill and Constance Cummings, are beyond boring; and, Jane Fonda displays no talent for acting. Worse than that, she looks like a skinny, bad female impersonator, who couldn't afford a proper wig, throughout the film. How she ever got another film role, after this, is a mystery. What a lousy movie.
