Bertie Wooster, Lord Peter Wimsey, Ratty in "The Wind in the Willows" . . . so many fond memories of the work of this lovely actor.

RIP, Ian C. His Peter Wimsey is one of the coolest performances I've seen.

I'm always sorry the London production of I Do, I Do was never recorded, not only because it would be good to have a second take on the wonderful score but also because it would be so interesting to here him and Deborah Kerr sing.

I'm unfamiliar with his earlier work but do remember a series of very funny TV ads he did in the 1980s when he played an English wine snob praising an unknown wine and then having to swallow his pride when he discovers not only is it from California but it's served in a carafe (Paul Masson's California Carafe).
