I am sitting here in my dorm room on a chilly Friday night listening to the sweet and rapturous sound that is Kelli O'Hara's beautiful soprano in The Light in the Piazza, and I can't help but be filled with utter sorrow and despair in knowing that on Sunday December 4th (a performance I am unable to attend), she will sing these songs for the last time.
I have realized, in my state of mourning that I have become one of those shrieking, wailing Wicked banshees who obessed for weeks and weeks over the impending departure of their beloved Idina.
I am extremely saddened by the realization that Kelli is leaving Piazza for good, and by the fact that I have turned into the loathsome creatures I so despise and have criticized. Idina, your revenge has been just and my heart has indeed been wounded forever!
Farewell by beloved Kelli O'Hara, thank you for all you have shared with me.

Yes, but have you ever heard Kelli sing like Idina?
It is freakin' hilarious!
green face *roar!*
edit: this cant be like idina leaving wicked because there's only one thread about it. get to work LF you need to make ar least 25 more
I can't even listen to Piazza anymore. It's too painful. All the memories of the things that were keep flooding back and torturing my broken soul.
I mean I am in my powder blue adidas track suit and I just finished an entire carton of ice cream. I'm a mess, people!

Just take....many breathers.
I'm crossing my fingers that the elevator doesn't misfunction.
Oh me too!
However, it would be pretty humourous for a moment or two if Kelli fell off the Aiutami rock on Sunday. I'd have to set-up a tent outside Lincoln Center and hold a candlelight vigil.
She might want to think about it - it's great press.
It's okay ~ you'll get to hear her sing "I'm Not At All In Love" as 'Babe' in THE PAJAMA GAME.
That should be interesting...I hope she sings it 'in character' and doesn't go all "high operatta" on that score.
"edit: this cant be like idina leaving wicked because there's only one thread about it...."
Very true, I respect ms. O'hara but to compare her exit to when Idina left.....no way.
However, I could be wrong but I don't think hundreds of people will show up to try to get tickets on the cancellation line to see her one more time, even if it's not her last day. I remember Wicked fans going for the lottery for a days before she left (and if they didn't get in to the show, they would wait at the stage door for her to come out).

I don't get how this is Idina's revenge.

I've never seen Light in the Piazza, but i did buy the OBC just for Kelli's voice, personally i love her voice so much more then Victoria Clarks.
Add me in this, why is it called Idina Menzel's Sweet, Sweet Revenge? Me tres confuse-o.

Idina's cool, though.
again, this is an ON topic thread, WRONG board
The "Idina's Revenge" aspect is fully explained in the first post.
Some people have completely lost their senses of humor today.
People have sense of humor around here Rath?..you better let Jose' in on that one.
Yes, I believe I explained why its Ms Menzel's revenge. She is getting revenge on me for having bashed her loyal (but a little psychotic) fans for being in a state of mourning and loss when Idina left Wicked, b/c now I am in the same pickle with the exit of Ms O'Hara from Piazza.
Geez people!

I upset that I never saw Kelli in Piazza. I was hopiong to see it before she left but no luck . But she has a new show coming up so I should be happy about that :).
I should say that she is such a sweet person. I got to meet her at the BC/EFA flea market and I mentioned that the next day was my birthday and she signed happy birthday on my poster. She then told the next person setting next to her that it was my birthday when I got to them. Not only that I think she is one of the most beautiful women that I have ever seen.
I am pretty much in love with her. In like, a non-Rathnait type of way.
I don't get all this sadness about people leaving shows. O'Hara was with the show for a while, is moving onto a much different project, and has recorded her performance so we can listen to her and remember her for years to come. I really think O'Hara is one of the brightest new stars of the theatre, and look forward to her leaving many more shows, so she can show us new, brilliant things every season!
Edited b/c I am a jerkface. Sorry Bobby.

I wasn't insulting you, hon. Your post made me think of how many people freak out when someone they love leaves a show. No harm done. Sarcasm is very hard to read on the internet.

Wow,
so then how much more do you hate it that Idina is leaving "See What I Wanna See" the same day that Kelli is leaving "Light in the Piazza"?
Is that a bit more sweet revenge you had in mind?
