What Broadway roles do you think she would have taken on?
(No one does "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" better than her)

Posted: 3/25/05 at 7:08pmKaren had a beautiful, moving, one-of-a-kind voice, but her kind of singing doesn't lend itself well to Broadway...she didn't have that loud belty sound that you see on stage these days. But I would KILL to hear her sing "Not That Girl...."

She has the range for it. Especially for that low note.
Their Christmas albums would have been great seasonal shows on Broadway.

"Don't Cry Out Loud" seated in a wheelchair and hooked up to oxygen. She probably WOULD be pretty thin
All kidding aside, I adore the Carpenters. She always makes me smile.

Posted: 3/25/05 at 10:22pmIf she were alive and well, I would hope she would have moved beyond cheesy pop tunes. Hopefully show would have gotten into Rodgers & Hart, Gershwin, Cole Porter, etc.
