If I couldn't have Idina I would have Eden. She has such an amazing voice.

Eden Espinosa, John Tartaglia, and Bernadette Peters
what the heck, I'm stealing Adam Pascal too re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

edit: oops! The plot...
a young theatre fan with the stars in her eyes (me- played by Eden) gets to spend one incrediable day with three of her favorite stars learning about life, love, and the power of song from three of her greastest role models.

supporting cast include Harvey Fierstein, Kristin Chenoweth, and the triumphant comeback of the one and only Jennifer Holliday

Edited for insomniak's post about the phonebook. Hallelujah!

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

ok, i'll give my list.. which has no real thought put into it, but would still end up being fun: kristin chenoweth, adam (uh oh... pascal or fleming... pascal or fleming...) fleming, hugh panaro, and for fun, let's throw in sutton foster... i think that makes up for a very diverse cast

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

men: Michael Cerveris, Douglas Sills, Gavin Creel (I was debating between him and James Barbour but Gavin is just so darn pretty!)
women: Sutton Foster, Idina Menzel, JULIE ANDREWS!... ok, or to be more realistic, how about Kerry Butler.

plot line? I am going to have to think about that for a while...

It'd be my life as a Cabana boy, starring Tobey Maguire as me.
For my sidekick, I'll let JRB_Actor choose who will portray him.
And Nina, you get to choose who plays you, my most special of all mistresses.

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

A few years ago, Anthony Warlow did a concert series (I'm answering the question, really) with John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John. One of the numbers they did was Granada, with Anthony going, "I think it's time now for me to raise Mr. Farnham into doing some 'high art'". It was home territory for Warlow, of course, but John Farnham screamed the sh*t out of the song, and it was amusing, and cool, to hear such differing singing styles converging in one song. So for me, I'd put Adam Pascal and Anthony Warlow together. I don't have a 3rd person, and I don't have a plot. I just want to hear them both let loose on stage. re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

THE MAIN EVENT!! Warlow and Farnham on Granada was a vocal battle of biblical proportions! Farnham is a tenor indeed.

As for my choices...

Rob Evan, Ray McLeod, and Bea Arthur starring in my reality musical entitled-

Bernadette Peters, Rachel York, and MYSELF! :)
It'd probably be something along the lines of 3 generations of females in love, lust, and finding themselves and such.

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

I can't believe no one has mentioned Carolee Carmello. She would be my choice for female lead anyday over the younuns....and as for men, male lead would be either Richard kiley or Howard Keel, and lets throw Karen Ziemba into the mix. The plot would have to be very dark (thats my favorite) and full of wonderful acting moments - something along the lines of The Haunting (original film version with Julie Harris - based on the book by Shirley Jackson) or The Others - or maybe a musical version of The Village..that film gave me chills for so many reasons beyond being creepy - mostly because it was a human interest story about living up to your potential as the heavens intended...so beautiful... or better yet - maybe best of all in my mind, a very old film from 1946 called A Matter of Life and Death - starring David Niven and Kim Hunter. Excellent!
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

re: If you could cast 3 ppl in your own show...

Let's cut all this "plot" crap here.

My 3 - Hugh Jackman, Adam Pascal and Hugh Panaro.

Plot: 3 sexually confused gentlement decide to test the homosexual waters together. Suddenly, they see an young lady with attractive drool crusties and sweaty hands watching in the corner (Played by me. And only me.), realize that they're actually bisexual and invite her to join in. Hilarity and heavy breathing ensues.

Need. Cold. Shower. Stat.
