Posted: 9/10/04 at 4:28pmThat's a hard one...but definitely the mind. One of my fears is going crazy or forgetting everything in my old age.

a body. the mind grows and thats the beauty of an aging mind.
unless you mean keeping the mind young to avoid diseases, etc.

Posted: 9/10/04 at 4:29pmhard to say... I'm partial to having a mind of a 30 year old, but with a body of a 100 year old, one may not be able to do much. One would literally be trapped. But the body of a 30 year old with the mind of a 100 year old may only allow me to be a kept houseboy and nothing more...

even if your mind might deteriorate over time?
personally, i would choose mind... i try to keep myself in shape, eat healthy, take a one-a-day vitamin everymorning, and shower with Ivory soap... my body will do what it naturally will do given the environment i keep it in... and Matt? pumpkin heaven is part of that environment!!!

I would want the body just as long as there are some good Alzheimers medications available to me by then

I find it incredibly difficult to believe - but I honestly think I would prefer the body (and mind, I assume) of the 30 year old.
Naturally this comes from personal experience. Mentally I recall being very bright, if not particularly experienced at 30. I was still learning and this combined with good health made life exciting and fun.
During the last couple of years I have experienced a lot of physical degression. I have great difficulty doing things that I always assumed I would be doing late into life. I am losing my eyesight (the hardest to accept) and have a lot of difficulty walking. Walking, reading, and theatre have always been the highlights of my life. So now you see why I pick the physical over the mental!
A click for life.

Posted: 9/10/04 at 11:07pmMind, I've seen too many old people who just don't seem to be totally there. It freaks me out to think it might happen to me.

Posted: 9/10/04 at 11:34pmThis is a very good question, Joey. I would have to say mind because I have an insane fear of diseases, and Alzheimer's is one of the most scary things for me. I couldn't watch myself go stupid, I honestly would rather die.

I'd take the mind. That way, I could invent something that would make my body 30 again. :)
Don't ya just love loopholes?
