In Good Company

Did anyone else see this movie yet? I just saw it today and loved it. Topher Grace gave a star-making performance, and the direction was beautiful... it reminded me of "The Graduate". Dennis Quaid was heartbreaking in it, but Scarlett Johansson had a much smaller role than I thought she would have. Everything about it was great, I'm so glad I saw it. In Good Company

re: In Good Company

I actually saw it yesterday. I was surprised at how much I liked it. Topher is definitely a star on the rise. He should end That 70's Show immediately. Dennis Q looked fantastic and is still a charmer. The story seemed a little two dimensional, at first, but it really developed as the movie progressed. I agree that the filmmaking was quite enjoyable. I loved the shots that seemed to mirror each other and show parallels in the multiple situations. Nice work. Not Oscar calibre, but a solid, fun, sweet film.
Laughter is much more important than applause. Applause is almost a duty. Laughter is a reward. Carol Channing

re: In Good Company

Dolly, I totally agree about the story... I thought it was going to be a simple romantic comedy, but it turned out to be a lot deeper than that! I was on the brink of tears during some really dramatic parts. The character development was perfect, too.

I thought it was a cute movie, I also liked the parallel mirrors in the stories. Though I'm not a huge Topher fan, it seems he played the same type of "I don't know what I'm doing" role like he had in Tad Hamilton. Quaid was great.
