I can't be the only one on the board completely enamoured with this artist. Has anyone picked up the new CD?
I love it, yet I can never pick a favourite CD of hers. Her lyrics and music are always inspiring and I love that she never compromises herself or her messages. Also, she has one of the most versatile voices I have ever heard.
Highlight Tracks are: The Heart of the Matter, Good Mourning, Private Party, India'Song, and my favourite: Summer.
Some minor dissapointments: I much prefer the real version of I Am Not My Hair over the remix, which is included instead. Also, there is no killer closing track like Wonderful and Good Man.
I am also seeing her a week tommorow, and can't imagine her live show being any less amazing than her albums.
Anyone else have India love?
I love India Arie! I just picked up the new cd and can't wait to listen to it this afternoon. I have been a big fan ever since her first cd and own all her cds. Who is she touring with? I would love to see her perform live.

I know she's with Jacksoul for the TO show, but I think the support changes for each city.
Everyone should listen to this underrated artist.
I checked on Ticketmaster and unfortunately she isn't touring in my area. Hopefully she'll add more tour dates - I'll keep checking.
I should mention that I purchased this cd today at Target for $9.98. Target copies of this cd come with 2 additional bonus tracks, "Just For Today (Embrace The Mystery)" and "This Too Shall Pass". Also, it came with a bonus DVD that has the "I Am Not My Hair" music video and the behind the scences making of the video.
Question: India Arie was on Oprah. She was talking about her song, "I Am Not My Hair" and said that she wasn't happy about her duet partner on the album's original pressing. On subsequent pressings she has taken that version off.
She wrote the song with Pink, but am I correct that the studio made her release it with Akon? And that's the duet partner she regrets working with? That she has released it since as a solo or with Pink?
