In the last 8 years, 4 of those years have had a best picture win by a film that did not win best director.
The youngest best actor winner of all time was Adrien Brody (who was days away from being 30).
Kevin O'Connell (a sound mixer) has been nominated for 18 awards. He has lost every time.

It's not like Scorcese was ever competing for best song.
