I'm just like you dramarama. Between 3-4 I'm up and can not relax enough to get back to bed.
I'm on my third week (at least) of this ****.

It's my witching hour.
Later studies have suggested that those persons who have insomnia with sleep disruption documented on the polysomnogram have elevated nighttime circulating concentrations of cortisol and adrenocorticotropic hormone.

So, these levels spike and increase physical arousal (no, not THAT kind), and we wake up. It then goes on to say it might have some correlation with higher metabolic levels, but I find that highly suspect given that, at age 24, I have the metabolism of an ant. Or so it seems, given my propensity to weight gain.

Dear G/d,
Please allow my body to relax and get some sleep tonight. It's very hard being up all night and trying not to think. I hope you can give me the strength to let all my thoughts and worries subside (at least for the night).
Thank you kindly.
