Some incredible photos

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

If only Al Franken's supporters were so demonstrative.

this is a sham. moussavi is khamenei's boy. he's always been khamenei's boy. mahmoud got too big for his britches and will have to make huge accommodations or be dispatched and disgraced. in the meantime, people desperate for real change are manipulated, hurt and killed eitehr way.

Wait a minute, did people actually expect honest elections in IRAN?

I'm wearing green today, in support of the people of Iran who are risking their lives for revolution.

70% of the Iranian people are under the age of 30. Even if they lose this battle beaten and bloodied, they will win because youth and hope are on their side.

There's a line in Martin McDonagh's THE PILLOWMAN: "I'm a high-ranking police officer in a totalitarian f**king dictatorship. What are you doing taking my word about anything?"

What's remarkable and really surprising about all this is the open rebellion against the fake election. Those poor people have put up with it apparently without balking for so long. I wonder why they're deciding to protest and risk serious injury and death this way now?

Yeah, youth and hope are on our side here, too, and look what we got stuck with. Barack "What, Me Honor My Campaign Promises?" Obama, The Highest Ranking Advocate for Anti-Gay Bigotry in the Country.

because they've been sold a bill of goods about a man whose brutality they are too young to appreciate. he's really mahmoud's idealogical twin, but he sounds much more polished and gives a great speech. plus he's allowed them to project upon him their hopes and dreams. he's kind of all things to all people there. they think that they are voting and demonstrating for true change. sound like anybody you know?
