There are whispers on capital hill that Alberto Gonzales will be replaced by Bush's favorite Michael Chertoff, a dead ringer for the cartoon character, Skeletor:
"The buzz among top Bushies is that beleaguered Attorney General Alberto Gonzales finally plans to depart and will be replaced by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. Why Chertoff? Officials say he's got fans on Capitol Hill, is untouched by the Justice prosecutor scandal, and has more experience than Gonzales did, having served as a federal judge and assistant attorney general."

Bush HAS chosen to stand by Gonzales.
No one else in the White House has wanted him there for months--especially Cheney's people. Gonzales himself offered to submit a resignation letter back before Good Friday.
Even for the Cheese who stands alone, a day of realization comes.
