A friend of mine heard a rumor that the "monster" in that movie is a giant hamster. True?
I just watched Mary Catherine Garrison in an episode of Third Watch.
Assassins is one of my favorite shows. I saw a college production when I was 11. That's when I fell in love with Sondheim.
No mauri, not true at all.
Glad you liked it taz. I loved it as well. One of my new favorites.

Wow...what a night.
Me too! i really dug the monsters. I posted about it on the thread.
Yes, I know. Wasn't the acting outstanding?
I was very impressed by it. It was a hell of a lot better than I thought it was going to be. JJ Abrams always delivers.
the acting was superb. I hate to say this, but when he was talking to his mom on the cell phone in the subway I got choked up.
And when that thing happened on the Brooklyn Bridge I was genuinely bummed.
yeah me too...i get pretty emotional about that kinda stuff.
I absolutely LOVED the part when they were walking through the Subway and he turned on the night vision. Totally kicked ass.
So many scenes really connected on a visceral level of panic. The hand-held camera conceit was extremely effective.
I agree. I was pleasantly surprised by the vividity of the handheld. It definitely made it seem more realistic. Did you watch the making on special features? It's pretty amazing how it all went down.
I try to avoid those featurettes b/c I don't want it to ruin the illusion. I did watch the featurette on the monsters though.
Did you see my little tidbit on the other thread?
haha, yeah. I'm thinking the mother is pretty massive, like at least the size of NY. Did you watch The Orphanage?
Not yet. Tomorrow probably. My one friend who likes horror movies is down for the weekend so we'll watch it together. I saw you were disappointed in it.
I loved The Orphanage! I loved how they mixed the two dramas.
I would love to see Embeth Davidtz play the Laura role.
I thought it was ok, but not nearly as good as the original. Just my opinion though.
Haven't seen it yet nits, please watch the spoilers!
What a coincidence! The Orphanage is the title of a chapter in my memoirs.
I didn't give anything away.
There's an original El Orfanato?
lol stagey.

I'm confused.
El Orfanato and The Orphanage are the same movie. I watched a great performance by Belen Rueda.
