I'd so write a restaurant etiquette guide.
I get way too pissed off way too often when I go out.
Actually, I'd write a guide on how servers should act. I had one at On the Border argue with me the other day. No tip for him!

No, Panera's not a make-your-own-sandwich place. I mean, a good cashier should be able to figure out how to make a sandwich that will make you happy, by changing cheeses and bread and sauces, but the menu items are pretty much what they serve.

Ha, Deet! But I really love their Caprese Sandwich. Fresh mozzarella, tomato, Romaine lettuce & basil pesto on a baguette. It's heaven!

And you can create your own sandwich. They have a questionnaire-like thing you fill out.

I used to mark off almost exactly what your Caprese was.

I'm not sure, taz. Panera bakes all their own bread, but it's not thin. Potbelly's is a make-your-own kind of deal, but it doesn't have bread quite like that either.

Hm... maybe it's a local thing, I don't know. It's pretty much amazing, though, great homey sandwiches for under four dollars.

Speaking of local chains, has Five Guys made it down to your part of VA yet?
