Austin.
You have Channing as your AV - and you DON'T know the Step-Up anthem!?
HA!
*Hops on a plane*
Spidey, I bet it was the scene where she's drunk on champagne and rolling around a sea of baked beans that clinched it.
Ann-Margaret is a goddess infinite. Don't mess!
When did I say I saw STEP UP? I've never seen it.
I want to, it's just at the bottom of the list.
I love Tommy, and that baked beans scene is legendary.
tina turner as the acid queen! elton john as the pinball wizard with ginormous platform shoes! And best of all those contraptions everyone wears to simulate being deaf, dumb. and blind!
I think we caught it on TCM a while ago.
Craaaaaaaaaaazy.

It just makes no sense, whatsoever. Again, LOVE the music, not so sure about the movie.
that scene never gets any less ****ed up no matter how many times you see it.
I mean really? What were they thinking?

I wanted to watch, but the kids are around, so Dad wouldn't let me. Maybe another time.
Hello?
well hello there WW

Tommy is quite bizarre, but for some reason I really enjoy it each time I watch. Maybe it does have a lot to do with the music, but the story does seem to grow on me.
"What were they thinking?"
It was the '70s, taz. No one was in the right film frame of mind.
Dude!! Okay, Tazzy. I got the Porgy and Bess and it is all the awesomeness you promised. I also watched the first LOTR movie, Soapy was not entertained.
that makes Tink's heart hurt a little, Soapy!
Deet!
Tink, so glad you loved Sweeney.
I've now seen it 3 times, and I am still in awe. I don't care if it makes billions or if it tanks, I don't care if it wins zillions of awards or if it doesn't win any. I'm thrilled that the movie got made at all, that it is a good as it is, and that it exists for me to enjoy, in the theatres now and on DVD in the future.

Soapy-You have to give the whole trilogy a chance, by the time you reach the 3rd part you will be interested. The 1st of the films was just the development of the characters as they set upon the journey. See the next installment very soon. You probably won't like that one either, but then take in the 3rd as this brilliant film just ties it all together.
For Tink, I will watch the next two. Then I'll get to that one about the pirates.
Thanks WW! I expected to like it, but i definitely was not planning on loving it. My father was just so impressed, he had some serious doubts going into it.
D2 - after we got back and were talking about, now Chris really wants to see it, lol! I really think he will come out loving it as well!
Soapy, just be aware that the second one features a battle scene that is nearly two hours long.
