Oh sweet, another IT person! *hug*

I've spent all day rebuilding a server that crashed and restoring most of it off of a backup. Only an hour ago did I realize that because it's technically a different physical server than what was used for the backup, it won't work. So now I have to go piece by piece and rebuild everything else from scratch. BLERG!

I'll take the hug any day - but I'm not IT.

Though I'm not completely alien to the world of IT. And can I just say: it seems like all the servers are set to crash at the same time. The main server in our office crashed in October, and slowly but surely every server in our various offices has been crashing. And undoubtedly they find that "oops, the back-up tapes were damaged, so you lost the last 3 days of work."

I notice that problem too, especially with printers. I've been slowly consolidating our sea of printers into larger network/mailbox models, but before, when we had cheapo LaserJets sitting in every office, at least two or three would start acting up at once. I used to call it "printer season"!

Don't get me started on printers. We have a significant set of printers, and for some reason they only need service when we are trying to print a large job on a tight deadline.
