oh. my. god. people are so stupid! they're going off about "the golden compass" and how it's horrible that those books are accepted in today's society because the kids in them kill god and they're so atheistic. grrrr. i'd rather them be atheistic then someone be cramming their religion down my throat. and they're freaking kids books. get. over. it.

I don't understand while people make such a huge deal over works of fiction like that middy. It's like the people that ban Harry Potter books. It's ridiculous.

theyre like we love c.s. lewis and i'll NEVER see that movie and it's awful that it's accepted in today's society. i'm like dude, it's frickin kids book. the only people who are reading that much into it are the people who are analyzing it and using that as a reason NOT to read it and/or see the movie. get over it.

Seriously.
I never really understand why people ban books. Like right now, we're reading Huck Finn in my English class, and I can't believe people ban it!
It's utter stupidity.

Good Evening Taz!
How was the party? Were you the only one not in costume?

BWW is being hella slow.
Yay, Glad you enjoyed your evening.
I'm currently watching Popular on DVD. AIM hasn't been working all day - or I'd be there.
Were you actually AT the game Stage?

*sigh*
The game was - what it was. Congrats to the Sox - they're really playing their hearts out, and have deserved every win.
We were at a production of DOUBT, so didn't get to watch. I STILL don't see what everyone loves about this damn script. I really hate it, and resent sitting through subpar therapy sessions of the playwright.

I wish, mateo. A bunch of us gathered at my sister's to watch it.
Good game, though, DG. You guys almost gave us a run for our money. I was practically hyperventilating during innings 6 and 7, I had to leave the room several times.

Taz - it was . . . 'spotty'. This particular theatre - South Coast Repertory (a Tony-award winning regional, and named by Time Magazine as one of the top five in the country) is VERY into 'presentational' acting. I am SO focussed on the emotional content that to not have that as a primary focus is distracting to me.
They were . . . 'OK'.
I really was focussed on the script - and I STILL can't fathom what the hullabaloo was about. At all.

I think people just like that it raises issues through a particular situation and never provides a definitive answer.
I am looking forward to the movie with Meryl Streep though!

This is what I don't get, though, Taz - I NEVER have any 'doubt' that he did it - and that's IN THE SCRIPT! I've seen different productions and even read the script - and I STILL can't figure out where the 'doubt' about that particular situation comes from!
I can see and argument that she has doubts about her 'pursuit' of him, or her faith - but I haven't any idea how anybody could question whether or not he did what he's accused of. To me, it's made blatantly obvious that he did. Period.

BTW: mateo, I vaguely recall POPULAR. My little brother/sister used to watch it way back when. I think Melissa Etheridge's partner plays a teacher. Bizarre show!
