Here are a few quotes from that link DD posted:
"Contrary to popular belief, acne is not linked to diet; there is no scientific evidence that eating — or avoiding — specific foods will cause, or clear, breakouts. Stress and dirty skin also do not cause acne, according to NIAMS (National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases)."
"Myth: Acne is related to diet
Reality: Does chocolate really make you breakout with acne? What about oily foods? Prevailing wisdom in the dermatology community is that diet and acne are not related. Of course science is never a 100 percent reliable enterprise. But at this time, there is no evidence that chocolate, sugar, oil, milk, seafood or any other food causes acne. Some people absolutely insist that a certain food causes acne for them, or that a specific acne diet works for them. In this case, doctors sometimes recommend that they avoid that food or follow that diet. Regarding chocolate specifically, several studies have been performed, and the answer to 'does chocolate cause pimples?' is a resounding 'no.'"
You were saying, Rath?
I have been blessed with never having bad acne.

You were saying, Stagey?
Shut up, taz! You too, Rath!
Great comeback.

I nany case, I'm not eating the candy bars. You guys can have them, razor blades and all.
I have just written another college essay, and I want my mom to come home and read it.
Would you do a pimple cream commercial on camera if Corny asked you to?
I'd be proud to.
Luckily, l've never been cursed with acne, like others.
But l realize the devastating effect of skin blemishes on the social life of teenagers.
and adults, too, Matty.
don't be so petty SM. you should be glad for me that I've never had acne. I delighted for you that your teeth are so awesome.
random comment - has nothing to do with anyone here - but some people take the most ridiculous stuff so seriously.

Because of this infernal skin thing of mine, I've been in a few dermatologist's offices lately. It is heart-breaking to see some of these people with visible conditions (not necessarily just acne - nor teens.) They are so withdrawn and sad
Stagey may have nice teeth, but he has Acne. of. the. SOOOOUULL!
Science does not support the food/acne link. If people believe it, then they are encouraged to follow that. Sort of like a placebo effect - some people actually do get better from sugar pills during drug trials.
Like in the Family Guy when Brian gives everyone relaxer placebos and they all sing Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Tazzy, how did I know you were going to mention that?
I need to start watching Family Guy. Everyone I know comments on it, and I feel so out of the loop.
But you love ladysmith black mambazo!
No I don't.
You and me both, DD.
All roads lead back to FG for me soapy!
When I changed my diet, 30 years of skin problems cleared up. They only return when I'm stressed. I don't expect it, it just happens. That's all I can say.
And, yes, taz, to your earlier comment.
God, now we'll be subjected to taz's perfect skin!

I had cystic acne for years. It's under control now (mostly), but it really did have a deep impact on how I felt about myself.
Yay! Mom liked my essay! If anybody wants to read it, PM me.
No, missy, you PM it to ME.
Thank you.
between taz's perfect skin and stagey's perfect teeth I feel a little out of place here.
DD, you and me both, you and me both. I for one, think you have perfect hair.
