Anyone here own a widescreen HD TV?

I want to buy myself one for Christmas - and want to pick out the best one I can.

I'm not sure how much money I can afford to spend, maybe around $2,000.

Any recommendations?

HDTV and players - this reminds me that I inadvertently purchased the HD version of Blue Planet, which won't play on our standard DVD equipment. I may seriously go get a whole HD system simply so I can watch those DVDs

That's kind of why I want an HDTV and player.

I want to see Hairspray and all my fav movies in HD Glory. (I know- suprise, suprise)

I know in 2009 all TV signals will go digital, so I might as well get it now.
