Gotta do homework before drama...see ya later, lovie!
I say whatever. There are some people on here who can't stand me and the feeling is mutual. I try to avoid confrontation however.
everyone loves you, tazzie...shut up!
I try to avoid it too, tazzy. It just comes calling for me most of the time.
YOU shut up, doodle!!!
I wonder how Tink's first day is going!?!
"YOU shut up, doodle!!!"
See? You started it!
and I love everyone! I'm full of love.
i added my .02 cents to the gypsy thread Rath. About Benanti.
It's really only a matter of time until that poster who is her friend shows up and starts whining.
This whole "day job" thing really gets in the way of daily fun. Hopefully soon she'll be comfortable enough at work to check-in during the day.
I'm just happy it's a job that she'll enjoy.
You said shut up first, doodie head!
ETA: taz, you can't tell if you'll like a job before you start it. Or if you'll hate it, for that matter. I thought I was going to hate this one, and I really love it. Also, the first three months are usually a "honeymoon period."
I told TAZZIE to shut up, because everyone loves him...follow along, missie!
Deet, I'm on a Roz Russell kick. I just ordered The Trouble With Angels. What else do you reccomend? I've seen Gypsy, The Women, Auntie Mame.
Shut up, doodle!
Taz:
HIS GIRL FRIDAY
MY SISTER EILEEN (the original 1942 version, not the musical version from the mid-50s)
THE VELVET TOUCH
SISTER KENNY
PICNIC
What I meant was that at least it's a job which is
theatre-related so it has some inherent interest for her.
Monk was in PICNIC on Broadway. Sadly, I didn't see it. I bet she was fabulous though.
Oh yeah, taz. All my theater related jobs had some pretty hateful aspects - usually, the theater-related employers.
Oh, and if you have the time on your next visit to NYC - go to the Museum of Television and Radio and watch the 1958 T.V. version of WONDERFUL TOWN. She's sublime, and it boasts the funniest, fastest version of CONGA I've ever seen.
Thanks Deet, I've only seen His Girl Friday from that list.
And Rath is right. There are days here...
The Women - one of my favorite films of all time. It's currently playing at A.C.T., hoping to see it in the next couple of weeks.
After hearing from people who work in "theatre" jobs, I'm happy keeping it as my after-work "passion" and not get involved in the admin aspect of it.
Oooh! The Trouble With Angels! What about Where Angels Go Trouble Follows? I haven't seen them in ages. I remember watching them on the 4:30 movie.
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.
Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
Well, I HOPE she is enjoying her job anyway.
Of course theatre people are so nice at first. It won't be until the second week that she realizes all the catty backstabbing going on.
I actually ordered them both girly!
