I had a bowl cut like that, too.

Funny thing is, I WANTED braces as a kid. I thought they were diamond studs and begged my parents for them. But they refused. My teeth were too perfect, they said. Even the dentist concurred with them when I brought it up. So I'd stand by the bathroom mirror and try to "unstraighten" my teeth. I even went so far as to model a makeshift retainer out of paper clips.

And before I was prescribed glasses in fifth grade, I used to wear my mother's. I even stole them and wore them to school one day because I loved how I looked in them.

I don't remember. I don't think so.

But I did also used to sit too close to the TV to ensure I'd need glasses myself.

I'm still begging for braces at 24.


Everyone was getting glasses in school around 3rd grade and i was jealous, so I made up blurry vision. My dad took me to the eye doctor and the Dr told me dad I was faking it to fit in, but my dad still spent $75 on "fake" lenses so I would feel better. I think I used them for a week and they disappeared into the oblivion.

I didn't get braces or glasses until my sophmore year. I was not pleased. Now I have contacts, but the braces are still on.
