Posted: 4/6/05 at 11:43pmaround now is when channel 11 shows the Brooklyn ad with Eden screeching at the top of her lungs. It's very unsettling at this time of the evening. I have to move away from any glass objects that may shatter.

Posted: 4/6/05 at 11:47pmI just don't dig this time of night cause I don't like going to bed alone, you get used to sleeping next to someone else, be it a bad relationship or not.

Carl, I'll gladly fill your void.
I just hate this time of night because I can never sleep. Despite what time I wake up, how many sleeping pills I take, how drunk I am, or what I've done during the day, I can never get to sleep before 6 AM. Last night I fell asleep at 8 AM, then feel like crap the next day, and I can't stop it. So now I dread this time of night because I just sit here waiting to be able to not fall asleep.
Can anyone reccomend a really good sleeping pill?

Posted: 4/6/05 at 11:57pmNyQuil always knocks me out on nights I can't sleep. And I don't know if you smoke pot, but I have this friend, who finds that a bowl about an hour before bed and some Miles Davis does the trick for him. And I'm about ready to spoon with anyone at this point.

midtown--i guess the prospect of having sleepy sex with munk got you so excited you posted twice
Munk--go to the health food store and get "5-HTP" in 100-mg capsules. It is the natural precursor to serotonin and melatonin. Take 100 mg every night before bed. It will kick in on the 2nd or 3rd night because it needs to build up in your body. You'll feel happier during the day and sleep sounder at night, because your body will be producing more melatonin and serotonin.

Thanks PalJoey - I'm going to do that.
Carl: If you get desperate, always feel free to PM me
Is this friend you speak of really yourself? Hahah...that doesn't work for me either. I'm really alert when i'm high. Same when I'm drunk. Must be all those years of narcotics...

I usually can't smoke cigarettes right before bed, they make me more alert.
And munk, do you honestly think I would do something illegal??
As far as the other goes, I seem to be attracting more men than women lately as is.

Posted: 4/7/05 at 12:11amMunk, my recommendation is that you see a doctor some time. Taking sleeping pills over the long term is extremely unhealthy.

Posted: 4/7/05 at 12:14amthe only thing i know is too many sleeping pills can affect REM sleep. No dreaming is bad. Thats why I like the Quill. Puts you to sleep and gives you some Fcuked up dreams!

I usually smoke up until an hour or so before bed - not as a rule, that's just usually how it turns out.
No Carl - I never thought that you'd do anything illegal. Ever. If you ever decide to take up men as a hobby, let me know

Posted: 4/7/05 at 12:18amGood to know, munk. Just saying if the insomnia becomes really chronic, don't look to stronger and stronger stuff to knock you out. There's other ways- meditation, for one thing.

Posted: 4/7/05 at 12:40ammunk... get yourself a prescription for some Ambien. It's lovely. You get a good night's sleep and have the most vividly delicious dreams. And you don't wake up feeling all groggy the next morning. You wake up feeling refreshed and rested. I actually get up earlier and get more accomplished the day after taking one.
