Fascinating, watching this story surface, the many anchors and talking heads having to spit out this potentially unseemly (and FCC ban-able, no?) phrase with great brio. My own favorite moment: at the gym, where the audio is only via headset, I saw Anderson Cooper's face fillling the CNN monitor, and the large title "Deep Throat Revealed."

But how curious to listen closely to the various pronunciations. Which is more lurid? DEEP throat, or deep THROAT. When one hears the actual, uh, cavity emphasized, it's a fresh reminder of the orgins of one of the most potent political monikers of the past century.

I'm suspicious of all this...
I STILL maintain that Carol Channing is DEEP Throat/Deep THROAT.

There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.
