Is the block feature working on this site?

I was just asking because I have several pests on block but I can still see them and receive PMs (which go unread and deleted) from them.

Everyone I've blocked is invisible to me (thank God) and believe me - I have a long list of morons blocked.

I won't block anyone - I think it is a hoot reading what is posted on this site. The fits, feuds, egos, nastiness, pomposity - it is so f'ing entertaining.

It's good to read everyone's statement. No matter how horrid the grammar/puncuation/spelling/opinion is. And I like to read everything, as well. I'm not very good at inferring things, so I like to read every detail before I give any statement at all.

although I have recently found out that you can not block "moderators" from sending you PM's.

i'm blocking.
i'm not interested in anybody elses's drama
and meltdowns by various board members don't amuse me.
i'm also not interested in getting into any more battle of wits with unarmed board members.
i just don't want this board to become a place i'm gonna dread coming to anymore because of some members.

I have never blocked anybody's threads, because of the sheer entertainment value, but I have blocked people from sending me PMs. So far, everything has worked.

How do people that don't enjoy drama find their way here?

I'm not a blocker but if I'm not mistaken, it just seems to make sense, that ignoring someone's PMs is a different fuction that ignoring their post. One is done from your settings the other through the PM function. Perhaps that may have caused some confusion.

I have a question for those of you who 'block' other posters - do you usually tell them they are blocked? I can easily see how some people could have made the choice to block me, but if they don't let me know in some way, then I would keep reading and responding to their posts. Obviously, over time with no response I would probably stop, but it seems kind of odd to think someone (like me) may just be talking to the air.

Who would ever block you D? You're one of a select few who's posts are always worth reading. I may not always agree with you, but this would be one boring board (and world) if everyone were always in agreement.

Seriously, I have tried blocking people's posts in the past, but I'm just too damn curious to keep it up. I block pm's sometimes, when necessary.

I've had the same problem. Someone I despise more than Billings, Montana has been blocked by me for a while, but a few weeks ago I received an unsolicited (and totally insincere) PM from her.

Makes you wonder.

When you reply to a post and scroll down to look at some posts again you will be able to see the posts of the people you have blocked. Otherwise it's bliss not to deal with certain tw*ts.
