Yes, I realize how strange this question might appear but does anyone know an oceanographer or even a college student studying oceanography that I could hit with a couple questions?
I'm working on a story and I need to know a few things about tides and currents and hurricanes and I'm not finding the right info. online and it would be much simpler if I could just ask someone in the know a few specific questions.
If anyone can help me out with a name or something similar, I'd be forever thankful.
Feel free to PM me rather than post a friend's info. online.
Thanks again.

I studied Oceanography at a special High School (on the beach) and planned on being one. But i got nauseas every time we took a boat out onto the water. I also got the willies every time we dissected a starfish, so i starting cutting class with the bad boys and smoking pot under the boardwalk. I somehow made it to graduation, but decided science was not for me. I know this story doesn't help, but i thought it would entertain you (and it's all true.)

I took Marine Biology in high school and oceanography in college. Best science classes I could take!! And pretty fun too!
In high school, we got to do a lot of projects at the beach, tide pools, mud flats, estuaries, etc. My younger sister opted to take the course, which now includes a scuba diving component. Living in CA has it's advantages!
