Roger Clemens (new part time NY Yankee) says he is not in it for the money only another ring or so he says.
He is a hired gun who, when he does not pitch, will not even travel with the team. What a guy
This guy has hit a new low. His statement re the money is like "we are the government - we are here to help you" or "the check is in the mail"
For the 2006 season, he made $12.25 million.
For the 2005 season, he made $22 million.
He obviously doesn't need the money he can made by pitching another season, so maybe it's not.
But even if it is, so what? The Yankees offered him $28 million for one more year, why is he a bad person for accepting that? They offered it to him. I'm presuming that if someone offered you $28 million, you wouldn't hesitate at taking it. It's his job; he's making money.
Is it too much? Yeah. But they offered it, and he'd be stupid not to accept.
Just be upfront about it
A columnist said if he was so interested in getting a ring, why not be with the team from day 1 & in the dugout when he is not pitching cheering them on ?
He waited until the Yankee pitching staff imploded to come in like the Lone Ranger to right all the wrongs. Right now, the Yankees would give millions to Osama if he could give them 6 good innings
completely agree Mr. Roxy... 28 million is a ludicrous number for someone who is so clearly not a team player...
A columnist said if he was...
You can always count on Mr Roxy to let someone else do the thinking for him, and not even provide a source.
If I said the columnist was from the News or Post you would still complain about the source. If it is that important , the source was Tim Mc Carver who actually played ball so I think he has some idea what he is talking about.
Unlike you, I need no one to do thinking for me .
