Posted: 4/27/06 at 10:48pmIs it snowing in April for Chicago this year, Glebby? Hopefully no dark clouds on the horizon to prevent that from happening...

There were flurries the other morning but April is pretty beautiful.
Come out AndyHardy.
Come play!

Posted: 4/27/06 at 11:06pmExcuse me, is this the meeting of the Carrying a Torch Song for AndyHardy group?
#11re: It's Andy With A Hardy
Posted: 4/27/06 at 11:08pmGuilty.
#12re: It's Andy With A Hardy
Posted: 4/27/06 at 11:08pmAre you a presiding officer of the aforementioned group?

It's a revolving position. I call tonight's meeting to order with a rendition of Judy Garland's "No Love, No Nothing," with slight revisions.
No love, no nothin',
Till Andy Hardy comes home.
No sir, no nothin',
As long as Andy must roam.
I promised him I'd wait for him
Till even Hades froze.
I'm lonesome, heaven knows,
But what I said still goes:
No love, no nothin',
And that's a promise I'll keep.
No fun with no one--
I'm getting plenty of sleep!
My heart's on strike,
And though it's like
An empty honeycomb,
No love, no sir, no nothin',
Till our Andy comes home.
Next?

Put on your Sunday-Go-To-Meeting and I'll take you by the hand
If you will be my dancing partner we will dance to beat the band
So join the promenade and lead the big parade
And if you don't get home at all your Pa will understand
So choose your partner Skip To My Lou
Choose your partner Skip To My Lou
Choose your partner Skip To My Lou

"Thank you..thank you very much,
I can't express it any other way
For with this awful trembling in my heart,
I just can't find another thing to say."
Um...wow. I haven't lurked here in a while. Me bad! But this thread made me smile big-time!
Hello Cookie Monster, the Divine Undiscovered, the handsome Zepke!!(wink), the poet PJ, and Miss Addy. I hope everybody is well.
Glebb (Chum!) hope your opening night was a success and that "thinking of Julie" will get you through the day! Enjoy Madam Minooli.
I know I'll have a great day thinking of you all and humming "No Love, No Nothing" (thanks PJ)

Darlings! How utterly charming of you to have dropped in like this! How delightfully informal of you to have dropped in like this! I mean, how perfectly marvelous of you to have... Well, you have dropped in, haven't you? And I... Well, gentlemen, you have caught me pitifully unprepared. And now, you may rise. And now, you may rise... Up, up! Come, get up, get up, get up, get up! Let's get on with it. There, now, that's better, isn't it?

Hey Andy! It's been long, long time...!
I love that medley--Ethel plays to the nonexistent balcony and Judy watches Ethel, thinking what a hoot she is!--but that medley is the most ENDLESS medley ever! It just goes on and on and on and ...

Hey PJ - Isn't it :
Friendship + Let's Be Buddies + You're the Top + You're Just in Love + It's De-lovely + Together (Wherever We Go)
Oh Ethel if you're the bottom - no Judy if you're the bottom - -

Yes, BT, it's just those 6 songs, but when they get to the last, they go back to the beginning or something...
I have always wanted to find a copy of an essay the late Vito Russo wrote, called "Why Ethel Merman Is Like Leather."

PJ - it is rather endless (I think they repeat portions of "Friendship" and "Let's Be Buddies" about twenty times) but its a very welcome endlessness.
BT- This is much too much. Sort of a bit of a "go -and-touch"
