It's time for insomniak to get a life

because this is my 10,000th post.

I've never made a thread announcing my status before because I usually think they're pretty useless, but this is quite a milestone (denoting what, I don't know. Lunacy, perhaps) and an oppertunity to blame- or thank- the people who have brought me to this point.

Starting at the beginning... a very good place to start. *hums with Do Re Mi* Emcee, my very first bww friend, who I met because of that fateful comment about cutlery... here's to you, your craziness, and helping me find my inner fangirl. It's time for insomniak to get a life Other people, in no real order- (list form is easier)
Tiff- Aside from being one of the funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with, online or off, you've also given me some great advice when I've needed support or kicked me around when I really needed to hear it.
amasis- for giving me something to think about and taking me seriously. It's a rare thing and I appreciate it more than I can articulate.
QM- I know you're on break, but you deserve to be recognized. You're one of the people who keeps me on the Adam thread. Thanks for never failing to make me laugh.
Glory- For trusting me and treating me like a friend who matters. Thank you for letting me into your life a little and being a good guy.
Delphine- If I were a Californian with bad taste in shoes, I think I'd be you. You remind me a lot of myself and so it sounds conceited to thank you, but it's good to know I'm not alone. You're just a cool person, chica, and there's a lot going on in your blue head. Much love.
Monkey- We need to revive the campfire thread thing sometimes. You're one of the few I remember 'meeting', and I'm glad we did. We straight female CJZ lovers must stick together.
Spider- I miss you, we haven't seen much of each other in recent days. Good luck with your wedding and thanks for just being a fun, Catherine-lovin' guy.
Judy- Similar to what I said to Spidey. Come around more often and keep the fence gates swinging.
NTG- you are a talented writer and a fun person. Good luck.
Fredi/JoAnne1- For your words of wisdom and kindness. <3
Guido- I miss you a lot too, my fellow Ohioan. You're a genuinely good guy, and a very funny one when we get you going.
Ebonic- for your prowess at true randomness
etheb- ALIAS LOVE! and general awesomeness.
cam- for caring about people. It's a rare quality these days.
BEKA- Sailor Saturn and Sane Wicked Love. Rock on.
Ellie- For being funny, sassy, smart and a lot of other things I don't have room to post.

To all the people I KNOW I forgot- Sorry, my memory sucks. Feel free to slap me. Really, remind me. I feel bad already because I know that list is incomplete.

Overall... I have nothing to say but thank you. I joined bww out of pure boredom and bitterness after ending last school year on a bad note, and I was having a tough time of things. bww was what reminded me how to laugh. People here have really changed me more than they know. If you can have friends you've never met, then these people are part of some of the best relationships I've had. You've made me laugh, think, and question, something that I rarely have been prompted to do in my 'real life'. Thank you for making this site more than just a chunk of cyberspace and turning it into a place to connect.

10,000??
Whoa.
I'm at a 'measly' 3,800.

And I loved your last paragraph.

Love you too, Som. (And I hope that list was in order of preference. re: It's time for insomniak to get a life)

And Cheezus, 10,000 posts?!

Ten thousand posts in eight months?

Have you done anything in that time to make the world a better place?

Oh you did not just raise that glass, insomniak! You'd better give me some.

Namo, I'm not getting into an argument here, but must you? Give the kid a break. Come on.

Not yet, but part of my "great advice when [she's] needed support" was to get off her lazy ass and start volunteering around the community.

And how's that been going, Som? re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

(Plus she's brightened many of our days.)

re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

Tiff, I am looking into it. I promise you.

Namo, I don't normally think your posts are worth a response, but I will say that the majority of that posting time is between ten PM and one AM, and there really isn't a lot else I can do during those hours.

Right. We should all be like Namo and carefully use our posts to spread negativity throughout the land.

*raises a glass*

Insomniak, I'm not sure whether to impressed or terrified, but here's to your 10,000th. :)

re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

Well, she is an insomniac.
What else should she do in those wee hours of the morning?
Run laps?

EDIT: Well, she pretty much covered what I said already.

Ahhh!

That is so sweet Nia-Som-Insomniak! You have completely hit the nail on the head as to why the BWW rocks, very eloquently by the way, and congrats on 10,000!

10,000 posts in 8 months? I've been on here since the beginning and I don't have nearly that many.

I don't know whether to congratulate you or hand you a puzzle to occupy your time.

re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

Probably the latter, CJR.

I am also blaming it on the fact that I used to literally respond to every post on the Adam thread.

Thanks, Loudie.

re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

I'm sorry too, ckeaton- it's sad when people feel the need to resort to a sock puppet screen name.

Mia, I'm not sure if this is something to be proud of, but thanks.

re: It's time for insomniak to get a life

Well I really didnt know what to say about it so I just went with congrats. it's my default response. That proves to be a problem when someone tells me they broke up with a significant other.

What? Significant other?
