Itunes/ help

I have searched the on-line manual and cannot find the answer. On itunes I have a section called my music. How do I erase/eliminate the songs in my music without eliminating them from my hard drive?

If you delete them from your music, by default they will NOT be deleted from your hard drive. To test it out, make a copy of one of the songs and put it in a different folder, delete it from "my music" in your itunes, then go to the original folder and see whether or not the song is there (if it's not, then I"ll try to figure out which setting is selected).
