Am I the only one who thinks that his narration in the King Kong trailer sounds like a Tenacious D song? I'm really looking forward to seeing how he fits into a non-Jack Black movie (I don't want to say "more serious role" because I have a feeling that Kong will be more comedy-centric than the trailers are making it out to be)
Yeah, his voiceover made me smirk. However, the scenes where you actually see him performing have been surprisingly good. Black has given great acting performances in the past, albeit still comic characters: in THE CRADLE WILL ROCK, for example.
I do think, though, that his character will be a bit comedic or wild; he's the guy who wants to showcase a huge dangerous beast in Manhattan, after all.
Incidently, I don't think it's a coincidence that Peter Jackson chose an actor who bares no small resemblance to him, to play the director character in KING KONG.
