I lost my albums. I had an early Joseph with a male Narrator - I think from 1969? Is that possible?
another Jefferson Airplane fave:
When the truth is found to be lies
and all the joys within you dies
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
When the garden flowers baby are dead yes
and your mind is full of red
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
your eyes, I say your eyes may look like his
but in your head baby I'm afraid you don't know where it is
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
tears are running ah running down your breast
and your friends baby they treat you like a guest
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
I can picture little Addy with hairbrush in hand, lip synching in front of the mirror to "Black Boys/White Boys" and her parents freaking out...LOL!
LOL - Marquise - that is EXACTLY what I used to do!
I should've known when back when that when I was singing Black "Boys/White Boys" something was up.
and my parents were also a little scared that I used to dance around my pretty little bedroom rocking out to Janis Joplin.
..and forget about when Jim Morrison first arrived on the scene. I wanted to light his fire. I didn't even know what it meant, but I wanted to do it.
I was a little hippie.
Addie - I see you as a lot of things, but "little Hippie" is a new one to my "Many Faces of Addy" list!
LOL....Addy you cracked me up with that.
Addy: The Little Hippie
Hmmm, what is in them there brownies?
LOL - oh, Marquise!
I was too young for them there brownies... but I wanted to be just like my friend, Stevie's, older sister. She went to Woodstock and was seriously cool...
Yes, I was a hippie in pink party dresses who thought organizing Barbie's clothes and carrying case was the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon...
Addy...teenagers who used to babysit me would have me go up to girls on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights and tell them to..."Come on Down to My Boat"...little did they know I'd rather be saying that to them.
Ah, growing up in the 60's! Such memories...
I was fighting for equal rights from the time I was in 4th grade! I was quite the little rebel. With matching hair ribbons. I knew from an early age that an innocent face could open doors and get things done...
Speaking of hippies and hipsters I used to catch this old gem in re-runs thanks to Dear ol' Dad (Have to thank him for the exposure to Mannix, Kojak, Streets of San Francisco and Baretta, too). I had a major crush on Peggy Lipton.
Everytime I thought of her, chicken noodle soup came to mind.
Hmmm, I wonder why?
"Addy, The Little Hippie" sounds like a twisted children's book!
I wore flowered bell bottoms with a purple velvet ribbon tied around my head and a piece sign hanging around my neck...and don't forget the brown seude fringed vest.
I was thinking it would make for a great series of children's book and maybe an animated series: "The Adventures of Addy, the Little Hippie".
Peggy Lipton was cool...
Karen Valentine was the coolest teacher.
OMG! Marquise - that's actually horrifying! LOL!
Boobs... I have such a vivid picture of you then - from the old Smoking Thread chats.
