I'm hesitant about this film since Ang Lee said before filming started he wasn't sure if he wanted to show these two characters kiss. This is a romance about two men and the director (who also directed my favorite film, THE ICE STORM) makes a decision like that? But Gyllenhaal and Ledger both said that the original script called for some pretty hot and heavy sex which they had no problem doing.

I'm curious if they're going to follow the short story the way it's written - because it's not much of a 'love story' as presented. The men give in to their mutual attraction, but can never succomb to the emotional attachment. They end up living seperate lives - coming together only a couple of times over the years - and then one of them dies. It in no way validates or puts any kind of positive spin on their relationship.
If the interest is simply in seeing two men go at it, Mike Branson is available in a variety of flicks.

Ok this movie looks great! I had not heard about it until today and I am excited to see it! I love both Jake and Heath! I also like Michelle Williams and she is in it too!
It started with a sipmle idea, collecting one paper clip for every life lost, the feelings that connect us...are greater than those that divide us!

In the scene, Jake and Heath are outside and decide to strip down and jump off a little cliff into a river. Jake used a body double because he was going to start another movie soon after this one and didn't want to risk getting hurt.
