"The only time I'm glad I'm 'old'"
What a sad statement - some might even say pathetic.
Would you rather the alternative?
Who ever said wisdom comes with age obviously didn't have you in mind.

I've seen James Taylor several times- what a guy, what a show, what a great night.
He has a song called "That's Why I'm here" where he sums up his own incredulity that he's still performing those songs and making a living at it:
Oh, fortune and fame's such a curious game
Perfect strangers can call you by name
Pay good money to hear fire and rain
Again and again and again
Some are like summer coming back every year
Got your baby got your blanket got your bucket of beer
I break into a grin from ear to ear
And suddenly it's perfectly clear
That's why I'm here
Singin tonight, tomorrow, everyday

He always seems so relaxed and happy to be performing, even though his tours look grueling to me. My favorite song of his - hard as it is to choose one - is "Copperline."
