I've seen James Taylor several times- what a guy, what a show, what a great night.
He has a song called "That's Why I'm here" where he sums up his own incredulity that he's still performing those songs and making a living at it:
Oh, fortune and fame's such a curious game
Perfect strangers can call you by name
Pay good money to hear fire and rain
Again and again and again
Some are like summer coming back every year

I break into a grin from ear to ear

JoeKv99 - I love that song! In fact I love everything Taylor sings. I have tickets for the Troubadour tour in Philadelphia AND New York City! He always seems so relaxed and happy to be performing, even though his tours look grueling to me. My favorite song of his - hard as it is to choose one - is "Copperline."
