Jay Leno is to receive the Mark Twain Prize for Humor for reasons that pass understanding, joining such titans as Richard Pryor and Steve Martin, and I can only imagine the payoffs that must have taken place to make this happen...

You mean the artistry of hiring a huge staff to read through news clippings sent in by the audience.

Maybe it was for the artistry of interviewing a hundred people on the street, and then airing clips of the five people who answered the questions wrong.
