"Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot."
"No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one."
Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

She was AMAZING in Cabaret (and I hated that show)
And let's not forget the mother of three phone sexer in ShortCuts

Posted: 7/11/05 at 9:46pmI would loved to have seen her as Sally Bowles. Everyone said she was terrible, but I really enjoy her work. She's quite underrated as far as I'm concerned.

She was great in PROOF.

An interesting actress, no doubt. I admire her dedication. I don't always love all of her acting choices in her performances, but she's always fascinating to watch.
When she sings the Van Morrison song on stage in Georgia, thats quite a powerful moment.

I don't think I have ever been disappointed in any of her performances...
After Cabaret, i went out and bought every movie she was in.
Though, I have to say, some of her movies weren't that great...The Hitcher...

Adore her. Her Catherine in Proof affected me so much that I don't think I can ever see the show in any way again. It's one of the most perfect theatre memories I have. First row dead center, and I've never related to a character more. Her performance was stellar. I think I have to go read that again.
Anniversary Party is excellent if you're a fan of the cast- a movie with JJL, Denis O'Hare, Matt McGrath, and Alan Cumming is perfectly fine by me. Once again, I totally got her character and it was the beginning of my love-hate feelings for Alan (and I was one of those uh, enthusiastic fans, oy).
