Hey- I just started a new job that I loathe, so I am back on the job-hunting market. Here's my advice:
Craigslist- go to the site and check out their job listings. Most of them are posted by various headhunters, who will call you when they get your resume. Working with a headhunter has its pros and cons. They are like an agent and can push for someone to hire you, but it can also be annoying to have to go visit dozens of them, fill out the same paperwork over and over, etc. I also find that you need to call or email them once a week when you don't hear from them, as they will sometimes focus on other clients. Keep reminding them that you're still looking.
Network like crazy- spread the word to all friends, family, and past work colleagues that you are actively seeking a new job. This is the BEST way to get a new job ASAP. If you are referred by someone already in a company, HR is much more likely to call you. They love getting referrals- almost like you've already been "screened" and deemed fit for the job.
Try all these together, and you should start getting interviews.
