Josh Groban sucks! He is the perfect example of right place/right time. He's just so damn boring. Get some emotion in your voice. And no I'm not just saying he sucks cause I hate Opera....quite the opposite, I just think Groban is a hack.
Carl, why dont you tell us how you really feel?
Yes beaver I have been to the opera many times. i just cannot stand groban
I like him! and I knwo someone who chased after his tour bus
Carl Magnum:
I do not know what your problem is... because Josh Groban is an amazing singer. and he is not an opera singer, he is a classical voice singer.
Obviously, you do not know enough about singers.

Josh Groban is amazing.
Weird thing- i'm actually listen to "Believe" right now... I <3 that song...
People are so starved for decent pop music that any minimally talented classical crossover act is hailed as the Second Coming. Groban is just the latest.
I enjoy him.

that's so true. will there ever be a time when pop records like pet sounds, magical mystery tour, sgt pepper, and white album can be released? i mean, dude, pop music is so sad these days! and "classical crossover" makes me BARF. either you're pop or you're classical. don't mix it, sarah brightman and andre boccelli!
*applauds*
dude i think i just got applauded by rath... i'm gonna do a snoopy dance!!!

Yes. Why don't we pigeon hole everyone into a neat little box. How creative.

personally, i enjoy his voice very much and just got tickets with two of my friends to his February concert at Madison Square Garden... and i'm excited.
People with a talent in a very definitive vein pigeonhole themselves.

dunt you sass me, curtin'! besides, that's not what i was saying. the thing is, when you get a bad pop singer trying to sing classical, it ends up making both genres (that it's trying to mix) suck.
Nice voice, but no emotion. doesn't do a thing for me when I watch him, but listening to a recording while shopping in a mall or something is a little better.
never liked him much until I... er... saw him in the Chess Benefit Concert. his duets with Julia Murney made an instant fan out of me. he's still no Norm Lewis, I wouldn't fly cross country to see him perform, but I enjoy his voice immensely and will surely view his inclusion in future benefit concerts as a good thing.

I think he's extra yummy.
I agree with the 'no emotion' comments. He's got a lovely voice but there's no sparkle. It's too...what's the word? He sounds like he's being too careful, trying to be perfect. When I hear Josh, I wait and wait for him to just let go and SING but he never does...
I like Josh Groban. As I (a 23 year old) and my sis (she's 9) describe him, his voice is like butter. I like his "Vincent" song. But someone mentioned that he doesn't let loose and just sing. And that is so apparent in "O Holy Night". I've heard so many artists just let 'er rip when it comes to that song and he's so reserved. I think he would raise the rafters if he let loose with his voice.
But Broadway Matt mentioned Norm Lewis and his voice is the melted butter that you use on lobster, it's that good. Josh is good for commercial reasons, but give me Norm Lewis' voice anyday. When he sings "Sailing", I get shivers.
I never really liked Josh Groban. Then last Febuary i went to a dance convention in LA and a choir sang the song he and Charolate Church sang and it was really cool! Now i burned his c.d. and listen to it all the time.
I don't think he's the Second Coming nor a hack. He has a beautiful voice that I enjoy listening to. I don't compare him to anyone because he isn't trying to be anyone else.
And he sure is easy on the eyes...
Saw him in concert. Fell in love. To the poster that said he has no emotion and that he is boring.....You are so wrong. So.. so wrong.
