Living in Oregon, we get to vote by mail.....So here it is..I feel so honored that I get to vote for the next President...Damn, I hope my man wins!!!!!I hope that everyone here at BroadwayWorld will vote for whoever....JUST VOTE!!
If you even hint @ voting for GWB on this board, you are a dead man/woman . I am now totally apolitical but I give you this advice as a fair warning. Vote for whoever you want but if it is GWB do not mention it here or you will be ostracized unmercifully

anyone who votes for a candidate who literally sees me as subhuman deserves to incur wrath. Consider it tough love.

Not true, Mr. Roxy, and I offer up the examples of papalovesmambo and LadyGenevere as proof.
I stand by my statements . If someone came on this board, extolling the virtues of GWB , you want to tell me with a straight face this party would not be subjected to such vitriol as has not been seen in a long time ? I have seen all things that have been said in the past. You are entitled to your opinion as am I
Oh PLEASSSSE...I would rather have 4 root canals then ever vote Republican........KERRY ALL THE WAY FOR ME!!!!

Sure, if by winning you mean winning some theoretical ineptitude contest.
Let's get rid of the guy who forgot Afghanistan (the actual terrorist center) to go nation-building in Iraq. Let's get rid of the homophobe with bad economic policies, worse environmental policies, and a tendency to whore himself shamelessly to corporations. And let's get rid of the guy who's about as "compassionate" as a pice of plywood, and who follos true conservatism only when it suits him.
Talking about corporations isn't it hilarious how W. forgot that he owned a lumber company, which he counts as a small business. "Need Wood?!" I agree with Tiff, he was just trying to come on to Kerry.

To be fair, Bush had a small share in a lumber company. Kerry didn't explain his point there all too well.
But, if you really want to be fair, Bush was being (at the very least) disingenuous and deceptive with his "who me?" reply.
VOTE NOW SO YOU CAN COMPLANE LATER!

Now, this isn't meant to pick on Kristie-K2 in specific, but it's just that she is the most recent person out of MANY people on these boards to say something like this. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't understand how someone can say something like that. A good voter, in my opinion, looks at both sides and then makes his or her decision. To say you would never vote for the other party just makes no sense. All that does is show that you're completely biased before the issues are even discussed. The whole point of these debates and things is so that a person can sit down, look at both sides and weigh the candidates views. So many people on this site are saying that they are going to vote one way or the other just because of the party affiliation and really, how good of a voting method is that? If everyone voted for the same party every single time there would be no point in even having elections because the turn out would be the same year after year.
I'm not saying anyone has to change their votes or that anyone doesn't have a reason for picking who they pick. I just think its a stupid thing to say you'd never vote for another party just because you don't agree with them at this exact moment. Party platforms change, just look at American political history. Parties come in and out of favor, change their stances, develop new ones, come in and out of existance. The informed voter is supposed to always look at both sides. Blindly voting for a party isn't going to do either side any good.
Again, do what you want, but I just don't see how so many people can act like just because a person votes one way or another they can never get along. The country is way too polarized in their beliefs and sometimes I think they need to seriously see that the whole point of elections is to look at both sides every time. Just because you agree with one party now doesn't mean it'll always be the right one. It is impossible to accurately state that either political party is 100% correct.

I just applaud everyone who is getting out there and voting. Personally I have my opinion as to who the right man is (cough...kerry...cough) however I understand it is just my opinion, which I will voice through my vote. Apathy is the greatest threat to this country. SO I implore everyone, who truly wants our country to thrive, get out there and vote, in whatever way shape or form you feel fits you best!
bythesword is right. Never say Never. You are fine to say I will never vote for Bush, but don't say I won't vote Republican. After all there are a few nice ones out there.
I wish I could vote but alas I am only 17 and not considered an adult by this country. You know the margin by which Kerry would win if 17 year olds could vote.

jacobtsf - i hate to be a b*tch, but i really don't think the 17 year old vote would really effect the election that much. considering the # of people 18-24 who DON'T vote, I doubt the 17 years olds would be coming out in crowds or anything. And really I'm not sure I'd want someone to be ou prez just b/c the 17 year olds like him. That sounds a little scary to me....
(just want to reiterate how i'm not trying to be b*tchy)
Alot of the people on this board are very young and do not realized what happened in the 80's.....with the aids crisis...I knew twenty beautiful lovely men die a horrible death....and I mean horrible......One after another....I weep to this day....especially on Dec 1 (World Aids Day).....The Republican party seem very homophobic.......wanting to pass laws against Gay people.......On my ballot there is a Gay amendment...WHY?....Until the Repubicans can get their **** together....I will vote independent or democrat......Please vote who you want to vote for....Just Vote!!!!!this is just one of many reasons why I am voting for Kerry!!!
if i was old enough to vote i would vote for bush

Some of the most decent Republicans are right in the tri-state area. I think I would have voted for Bloomberg over Green if I lived in NYC. Though Bloomberg is a fake Republican, so that's a bad example.
this brings up something i've been meaning to ask about. i only caught the tale end of the Reagan administration, so i wasn't really hip to what was going on. however, there seems to be a lot of hostility towards him (little barbs in angels in america, other little snipes by people) and i have tried to find out what the deal was, but have had trouble in researching this. some people seem to dogmaticly support him, others loath him. so what's the what? why the strong emotions?

It's a DAMN shame that we can't vote NEITHER!!! Give me a different choice!!
A third Party for the Love of GOD!!!!!!
Any other libertarians on the board? Huh?
Yeah, didn't think so....

A guy who was elected by a Supreme Court decision, wasted the world's goodwill after 9/11, started not one, but 2 wars, the second one for extremely dubious reasons, was the first President in decades to have the number of jobs in teh coutnry actually reduced during his term, continued his all-encompassing love for big corporations even during an extreme spike in corporate scandals, refused to even try enter into almost any kind of world treaty or discussion about anything, wrecked environmental regulation, curbed people's constitutional rights, and encouraged the spread of virulent hatred against homosexuals is going to provoke some strong emotions.
don't know if that one was a reply to me- but that post seemed to be about bush. i was asking about reagan, because i wasn't really around much in his term. thanks though

Sorry, I'm completely loony today. That baseball game has knocked me off my rocker, I think.
Look up Reagan's AIDS policies and you'll begin to get an idea of why so many people thought he was a callous ass.
