Have you ever noticed that for Auditions they normally tell you to "prepare 32 bars of a song that is in Contrasting style of Broadway". Why is it that they DON'T want you to do a song from B-way...especially if you're auditioning for a B-way show? It's kinda weird...lol. I can understand not doing a song from the show you're auditioning for, but just B-way in general. It really narrows your song selection down. Well I was just wondering, let me know what'cha think! :) (Some of the theaters don't do that but several of them do)

The modifiers are placed wrong. It means: Prepare 32 bars of 2 songs of Broadway that are in contrasting styles.

Usually if they ask for non-Broadway it means that the music in the show is not traditional Broadway style. "Rent", "Aida", and other such contemporary rock/pop musicals ask for rock/pop songs to make sure that you can riff which is really important for a lot of rock musicals.
Hope that helped!
