...in concert at Atlanta's Chastain Park. They were wonderful! It was the final night of their current tour and the band's Atlanta fans were happy to welcome them home. Amy and Emily played songs from their new CD (it's very good, by the way, for those of you that haven't picked it up, yet) and old favorites like "Least Complicated", "Power of Two", "Shame on You", and "Closer to Fine"". Their final encore was "Galileo". Showers fell for the opening act at this open air amphitheater, but all was clear and fine for the Indigo Girls set.
For those so inclined, "Happy Pride", 'yall !
I am a huge INDIGO GIRLS fan. Love the new CD. Had the immense pleasure of seeing them from the front row several years ago. Their live concerts are amazing. The girls have such a connection with their fans. I also recommend 1200 Curfews, as a must have for fans or great introduction for those who have never heard of the girls.
Oh, well, Hello Dolly! I'm so glad that someone knows and enjoys the Indigo Girls music on the board besides me. It must have been great seeing Emily and Amy from the first row! You are quite right that they have a very special connection with their audience - and they are sooooo appreciative of their fans. The new album is terrific - I think they played 4 or 5 songs from it. They were gracious and invited members of the opening act to come out and sing a couple of songs with them. They even had the opening act from their Saturday show (the Girls are very popular here in Atlanta - they had a 2 night stand!) come out to do a cover of "Midnight Train to Georgia" with them. Very cool!
