Myrtle Beach was chilly...and I'm not a fan of the place. It's great for retirees and golfers...

Bored...and a bit overwhelmed by how my parents are being effected by age. Trading parent/child roles as it were.
Now I need a real vacation. Perhaps Mister Wilson will invite me to come sit in on the rehearsals for BITP.
I promise to be VEWY, VEWY QWIET!

I'm sure my screams of delight would be drowned out by Mister Wilson's sobbing, doncha think?

counting down the days to getting back, Em?
YES.
And what is the countdown? (It's been 7 years since my last winter break)
I'm going back on the 4th or the 5th, but break isn't over til like the 17th, or something.
But as long as dorms and/or residences are open... Or even if they aren't, as long as you can get back!
Yep, they are! Thank God. I can't stay here much longer.
Just remember to breathe! It's only the first year, and hopefully, it gets better!
Second! But this is far worse than the first.
Ooops... They tightened the apron strings? Oy!
Sort of. I either feel like an unwanted guest, or like I'm supposed to still be a child. And my brother is upset because I'm like... stepping into his territory, or something. He's like "um, you don't live here anymore."
Well, it's always that strange in-between state. I think the NYTimes had an article last week on the strange dynamics of having college kids return home for the holidays. Family gets "used" to the idea of you not being there normally. So when you are, their own dynamics are thrown into confusion, not to mention your own dynamics...
Though as a reminder to your brother, you *do* live there and *have* lived there, and that territory is still *yours*
I don't know what to do about him; he'll be seventeen in a few weeks, and his temper flares up if he doesn't get *exactly* as he wants. He treats me like I have to have his permission to do things in "his" house; and if I do something that interferes with his ideal situations, he pushes me around, literally like some junior high school bully. He wants everyone to be afraid of him, like he owns the place.
But I do feel like I've thrown off my family's new balance, and all. It makes me really not want to be here, because the adjustment isn't going well.
