okay now i just found out Ms. Hart was a regular on the original "To Tell The Truth" game show and that Moss Hart wrote the books for both CAMELOT and MY FAIR LADY.

I don't know if this link will work, since it's an archived article from the NYT, but a great artilce from June '04 comparing the experiences of Kitty Carlisle and Kristin C--two girls with songs in their hearts and big racks who came to make their way on B-way.

Kitty also used to be a regular on What's My Line. At that time, she went by Kitty Carlisle. She was so glam.

Back to Kitty...I saw her in Night at the Opera, and she was very funny. When I checked IMDB to see if I had seen her in any other movie, I hadn't. Anyone else seen her in another movie? Was she better on stage or on film?

She was in Murder at the Vanities (1934) with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and the campy song "Sweet Marijuana," which Bette Midler later recorded. I don't think Kitty sings the song in the movie.

I got to meet her in the early 80s and she was a very kind star/lady.

Dame, I really hope you can report back to us on this show. I am still angry at myself for having missed her TWO shows at the Geffen last year, while You Can't Take It With You (written by her husband and directed by her son) was playing there!!!

Did you ever read about KCH as a child when in a cab I believe, The Driver asks (her Mother) if she is Jewish, Her Mother said "She might be but I'm not" - I was like "What kind of a Mother was THIS?!" She has lead an interesting life and is still going!

I just got tickets for her San Francisco show. She will be here for five nights. I also got tix for the return of Joan Rivers - gonna be a great year!
Justme - she is going to be at The Plush Room at the York hotel January 11th to the 15th. [phone]. Beautiful room - I saw Lorna Luft there on New Years Eve.

She's OLD, Dame! You are lucky that curtain isn't at 11am, so she can get home for bed by 2pm.
