Has anyone seen the 1973 television version of The Glass Menagerie, starring Katharine Hepburn? Is it worth looking for?

She was very good in it. But then again, I am a big Hepburn fan.
I've heard it's good, but haven't seen it. They have it for sale at the Broadway Theatre Archive and Amazon. Maybe you can find it cheaper somewhere else, though.

She was very good, if a tad bit too old for the role. Sam Waterson was an excellent Tom and Michael Moriarty was very good as the Gentleman Caller.

Thanks. I think I will get it...you can't go wrong with Katharine Hepburn, right?
This is so weird..... I couldn't sleep last night so I stopped trying and came into the room to watch a DVD - and the one I ended up watching was Katharine Hepburn's Glass Menagerie! It really is an excellent production. Deep Discount DVD has it for $18.29 - no shipping.
i have loved this production since it was first shown on TV. KATE is great, and all the others are excellent too. haunting music by john barry. i ordered it just as soon as i saw it had come out on DVD.
Let's not forget Joanna Miles' heartbreaking, Emmy-winning performance as Laura.
yes, i loved joanna. she and michael both won emmys, i believe.
Yes, Joanna and Michael both won well-deserved Emmys. I don't know how Hepburn lost; she was mesmerizing. An alltogether great film.
as i remember, KATE and SAM were not even nominated. and i thought that very strange.
Both were nominated. Updated On: 7/1/05 at 11:21 PM
