Kathy Griffin and Barbara Walters

I missed the part of "Allegedly" where she talked about her confrontation with that humorless country club phony Barbara Walters.....can anyone tell me what happened?

Barbara brought up Kathy's wedding even though she asked them not to. Then Kathy said she was doing a Charity tie in, where guests and fan give to Charity rather than giving gifts to bride and groom. So snooty Walters said "That's What Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are doing", and Kathy said "Yeah, but our wedding isn't shotgun." And Walters got real huffy and said: "Well Neither is there's". More tension, and finally One of the other hosts talks about a gig Kathy will be at, and says she'll be there, and under her breath Walters says: "Well I won't be there." Later, Kathy runs into Star and says that they replay the scenario in the dressing room taking turns playing Barbara and Kathy.

I hope that makes sense. Kathy, of course, tells it better.

Do you mean the part where Barbara talks about Catherine Zeta Jones' wedding?

Kathy specifically asked that the ladies on the view not bring up her marriage plans on the show. The thing was that she and Matt ( her husband) were going to have people donate to a charity instead of getting gifts but they had not worked out the details.

So - the ONLY thing Walters asked Kathy was - of course - her wedding plans. Barbara then announced that that is exactly what Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones did, and Kathy was pissed so she retorted that her marriage to Matt would not be shotgun. The interview went downhill from there.

You can rent or buy the dvd, and I think they are airing it on Bravo...

I think Borstal meant he wishes he was able to see the episode of the View with Kathy - BUT if you DO get the DVD make sure you watch the bonus features! Kathy has her home movies from Kuwait on there when she went with the USO and they are really moving. You see a totally different side to her - it really warmed my heart.

That's BS about Zeta-Jones's wedding. They asked their guests to make donations for their newborn son, Dylan. Barbara Walters sucks anyway. The only reason that she doesn't like Kathy Griffin is because she tells it like it is--something Walters doesn't have the balls to do.

I thought that bit about Barbara was hilarious. It's such a shame that people are so shallow and don't like Kathy. I mean sure she can be brash as hell but at least she's honest. I liked the part on Allegedly where she talked about passing Nads to everyone if the interview went badly. Good stuff.
