That was BRILLS.
But in all seriousness, lets have a musicalized Postman, maybe an Opera.
LOL!
That was during his "post-apocalyptic" boring epic phase.
I actually read the book The Postman, and its like the screenwriter went "Ok, so, uh, we'll keep the Postman, the apocalypse, the western US and the crazy separatist, but **** everything else, including the fake super computer, the guys name, his background in the military, his status as a war hero, the names and locations of every other character and oh yeah, the story in general we'll just rewrite completely so that it in no way resembles the author's original intent."
But i still love me some The Postman movie.
I just remember that scene in the previews where he comes in to some beaten down old house and everyone is like "who are you?".
And as the music swells, and Kevs is framed in the doorway with light shining behind he says:
"I am the postman"
And everyone cheers.
Classic.
hahahaha, Yeah i know, but i love it.
That was miles better than the theme park show at Universal Studios...
How about Leatherface - The Musical ?
How DO you write music for the chain saw?
Very carefully.
A number of years ago there was an off off Broadway musical called "Buzzsaw Berkley". It was a sendup of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre & Judy/Mickey Let's Put On A Show musicals.
It was offbeat to say the least. Nothing survives recording wise.
I love 'The Postman'. You just need to watch it as thought it's a deeply subtle satire, and suddenly it becomes the BEST FILM EVER.
This technique works for many many things. I highly recommend it. :3

Waterworld still seems like a better idea for a musical than Xanadu.
