did anyone just watch? i taped it but i ended up watching five minutes here and there. it seems really cliche but it's gotten good reviews and i feel like i should try it out and support taye digs even though i don't have time to follow another show. what did you guys think? from the scenes i saw, he was good but it was, like i thought, cliche w/ nothing too exciting yet. maybe it will get better but i cant decide if i'm going to keep watching to find out.

It was way too obvious. With better writing, it may have worked. And there wasn't really any emotion in it, you'd think that a guy who lost his relative (albeit one he hadn't seen in two years), got stuck with a baby and a new job that pitted him against his old one all in about a week would stop smiling now and then.

It's a sitcom, isn't it? Can't have too much seriousness there, at least not until the Very Important Lesson.

it's not a sitcom. i guess you could classify it as a dramedy. and it is a beautiful smile! but i thought it was weird in the scene where he goes up to the movie star in the bar for the first time (one of the few scenes i saw) that he didn't stop smiling.

It's eh. I probably won't watch. I'm sticking with Lost, and two hours in front of the TV is too long for me.

i also saw a few scenes from lost today - i tend to watch five minutes here and there or flip channels if i'm watching live tv and not a tape (i have to tape most things) b/c i think i've developed a short attension span when it comes to tv - that also looked interesting and it's a jj show so should be supported, but i don't know if that's worth adding either - the whole supernatural thing, i don't know if i could get into it w/o following religiously and i don't have time for that - but do we know what crime the girl committed, just out of curiosity

No, we don't know yet. I can't wait till next Wednesday! I wasn't impressed with the first part of the pilot, but this one hooked me. I don't know why they didn't make it a two-hour event.

o, thank you. i like it too. i have red hair so i kind of feel like it's slightly represenative of me in addition to the fact that i love alias. that's probably corny but i think it's cool. i was in disney world this summer and at mgm in one of the eating places they had the red wig from the pilot and i saw it. i have a picture w/ it. i thought that was very cool too.

Aw, I thought it was very cute.

I just melted when the baby was asleep on his chest.
Of course, I would just watch an hour of him smiling at the camera...

Really, Alix? I could've sworn The Red Wig was chopped up and redyed for the second-to-last episode of season one, where she goes in as the nightclub singer.

it must have been a different wig b/c i saw it. that is a really good scene though when she's singing in the nightclub and goes over to sark's table w/ the other guy and all.

They said in one of the making-of extras on the DVDs that the red wig was used in the nightclub after the cut and dye. I'm guessing you saw a replica.

really? that's awfully dissapointing. but it did say next to the wig that it was the one used in the pilot and i don't know why they would write that if it isn't true. there's not much point in that. maybe they restored it or something. or maybe there was more than one.

I thought it was kinda cute. I also really liked when the baby was sleeping on his chest ... made me wish I were that baby. Also made me wonder how long it took to set up that shot. The only thing I really didn't love was the camera work. It was a little over the top for me.

hmmmm..... still wishing I was that baby........

Yea, they did have the camera all over the place.
And i wasnt a huge fan of all the music but i still found it enjoyable.

Ok, so now that the show has been on for a couple months, any new thoughts?
Personally, though it has gotten a tad old that they win every case (or lose but only have to pay $1 or the dad doesn't get joint custody but has unlimited unsupervised visits), I still enjoy watching the show. And no matter what is going on with the writing, I could just watch Taye for hours.

I actually didn't find it interesting at all, only watched it for Taye's sake (damn he's hot). The ep last week when he was in his underwear for the whole first scene....totally worth it! LOL

I was at a bar where the cast of Kevin Hill were chilling on Saturday night in Toronto (sadly, all but Taye). They actually film the show at my boyfriend's work. One day I should go camp out so I can steal away Taye Diggs.
We could easily add him to the Catherine on Karen website!
