re: Kids Incorporated Site

I loved this show when I was younger! I'd forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder of "the good old days". I'll check out the website, when I'm not at work. re: Kids Incorporated Site

re: Kids Incorporated Site

Am I wrong, or is the student board more geared towards questions about high schools and colleges and school productions and things of that sort? Just because the subject matter has to do with teens and young adults doesn't mean it should automatically go on the student board. Just my two cents.

re: Kids Incorporated Site

I remember when this and MMC came on the Disney Channel, I thought "oh f*ck this crap is gonna be boring." So I never watched it. The end of my Disney Channel viewing for the day came when the Kids, Inc. theme song came on. Now I wished I watched KI and MMC.

re: Kids Incorporated Site

My sister and I used to wake up early Saturday mornings to watch this - and we also used to tape it with a cassette recorder held up to the TV! I remember how excited we were when the record came out - we listened to it over and over. In fact, I was in Atlantic City with my sister just this past weekend and in the casino they were playing all these old 80s songs - Cruel Summer came on - and we ended up having a 15 minute conversation about Kids Incorporated! (I won 200 bucks, too, so woohoo!)

re: Kids Incorporated Site

bwaylyric, thank you SO much for mentioning Martika! I thought my girl was being overlooked. She has a band that's been playing around Asbury Park somewhere recently.

My love for Kids Incorporated is why I hate Fergie. I loved the show so much growing up. I accidentally saw Wild Orchid when they opened up for Cyndi Lauper who was opening for Cher. I had no idea it was her (and wasn't there another cast member in that group?) until I went to my seat in the middle of thier show. I said, "Whoa! It's Kids Incorporated!" Some drag queen in front of me said, "Girl, what happened to them?" They were just HORRID. No one there wanted to see them and no one was paying attention. We started singing the theme song and dancing. It was great fun.

Ok..add me to the ranks that loved this show...at least the early incarnation of it. I had no idea that it was on TV until 1993!
After it's first few seasons, I remember that it was one of those "desperation" shows...something you'd watch at 5:00 on a Sunday night when nothing else was on....kind of like "Small Wonder"...any body remember that?

Princeton, I TOOOTALLY met Tony Lucca when he opened up for Nsync. And he was a sweetheart and it was glorious. I have a whoooole bunch on MMC episodes that were on the Disney channel in like 1999, and I randomly watch them all the time.

PS - How has this entire thread gone without someone typing out part of the theme song?

re: Kids Incorporated Site

Am I wrong or does the smaller girl to the right of Fergie in the "Tell It to my Heart" video look like Christina Aguilera? I know she was on MMC, but it looks like her in her younger years I think.

Woooooah...Looks like we made it.
We're Kids Incorporated.

I used to love the toned down lyrics.
I remember a little guy on there singing "I Get So Emotional" by Whitney Houston. They changed the lyrics to "I remember the way that we hugged(instead of touched), I wish I didn't like it so much." And then in "Freeway of Love" they dropped "love" altogether. "We're going riding on the freeway, The wind was against our backs." Classic.

Oh yeah, did that show rule. I remember seeing it as a kid.

I miss it sooooo much.

re: Kids Incorporated Site

The episode synopses on that site are hysterical...

“An alien comes to Earth for a school project and decides to take Renee back as his specimen.”

“Renee is suffering from contest mania and is spending all her time and money on contests.” (Huh?)

“Exams are coming up and The Kid refuses to study or take his classes seriously and spends his time planning on being a huge star like David Hasselhoff.” (features musical performance by Gloria/Martika...”You’re Out of Touch”)

And my favorite...

“Ryan has a crush on Riley’s cousin until he finds out she is blind.”

I remember "Let's Hear It For The Boy." Nice red and purple Michael Jackson jacket. And the girl that played Stacey's sister was the other girl in Wild Orchid. Man, they changed.

"Season 6 (1989) altered Stacy's vocals to a higher pitch to make her sound younger for whatever reason. We have her original vocals first which is her normal voice and then the video has the broadcast vocals which is altered to a high, squeaky pitch and starts at 01:50. And they think we wouldn't notice...re: Kids Incorporated Site Enjoy!"
Fergie - Straight Up
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
