Why would Bambi be a female voice?
Wikipedia is the only reference to Idina and Kristin doing the project that I can find. Disney films are pretty popular in my line of work and some of the kids are REALLY looking forward to this movie. IMDB only lists the principle male voices at this point.

The trailer has been out forever. I was sure we would have heard that before now. Unless they went in and altered it. Never trust Wikipedia!

The real issue here is that Wikipedia is one of these less reliable sources of information on the planet. When it comes to announcing things that haven't happened yet, I would always HIGHLY recommend a second source.
A large portion of their data is non-verified, public provided info. aka, B.S.
Until this is announced by Disney or at least a credible entertainment news reporter, I don't buy it.

If you took some time to read before defending pointlessly, you would have noticed that Bambi is voiced by an 11 year old boy. Do you really think that a young boy's speaking voice is going to sound that different from a deep-ish/raspy female voice? I think not.
And why, Jersey Girl, do you feel the need to immediately shoot down perfectly plausible information. It's not as if anyone said Kristin and Idina were going to the moon and doing a live telecast version of "For Good".
It is very possible that they are participating in this movie. So deal.

There's a link to an IMDB message board post where someone links to the same Wikipedia article but doesn't have Idina Menzel listed as Bambi's singing voice... so I suspect someone edited her in there for one reason or another.

442, it is not perfectly plausible information, considering the DVD comes out next month and the information is only on Wikipedia. Had these women been working in the production we would have heard it before now. I was excited at the prospect, but after doing a simple search, it was obviously less than reliable.
Trust me, I work with kids with autism and Bambi II is literally ALL I am hearing about from the student I work with the closest. Disney films are a large part of my day. Today it's Hercules. sigh.

If the DVD comes out next month, it went into replication from a final glass master a MINIMUM of 4-6 months ago.
IN ENGLISH: Everything had to be locked on the DVD before then. If they were doing the singing voices, it would be "old news" by now, unless it was kept under wraps all this time.
